(DCWatchdog.com) – In a dumbfounding proposal that might as well be a sick joke, a far-left US congressman has suggested that America receive hundreds of thousands of Palestinians fleeing from Israel’s military operation against Hamas – a population that even their fellow Muslim Arab nations refuse refuge.
The proposal potentially entailing the arrival of up to 1.5 million Palestinian Arabs inhabiting the Gaza Strip has come from far-left Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), a member of the “Squad,” a Marxist group at the House of Representatives.
US ally Israel is preparing a massive military group operation into Gaza to destroy the Hamas terrorist group, which attacked it recently, killing thousands of civilian and military casualties.
The potential intake of Palestinians seeking to escape from Gaza, a tiny enclave of 2.2 million people, would occur against the backdrop of the illegal immigrant invasion through the Southern Border, which has seen over 7 million migrants enter the United States on President Joe Biden’s watch.
“Fifty percent of the population in Gaza are children. The international community as well as the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas,” Bowman told The New York Post over the weekend.
The far-left congressman’s appeal follows Israel’s advisory to northern Gaza inhabitants to relocate to the southern part of the strip within 24 hours.
As per the Times of Israel, over 400,000 Gazans had deserted their homes by Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, Israel’s neighbor Egypt, a nation of 100 million people, has sealed its border with Gaza, opting not to admit any Palestinian refugees.
Israel’s deadly incursion into Gaza was a reaction to the catastrophic strikes from Hamas that resulted in 1,300 Israeli casualties the previous Saturday. Israeli shellings claimed the lives of numerous civilians, even after they were alerted.
“According to the latest reports by local health authorities and media, at least 2,215 Palestinians were reportedly killed, including over 700 children, and more than 8,714 people wounded, including more than 2,450 children,” UNICEF spokesperson Sara Al Hattab told CNN.
Mariana Dahan, the founder of the World Identity Network Foundation, speculated that the ongoing strife “may add over one million people to the already staggering number of 6 million Palestinian refugees in the world.”
Current census figures indicate approximately 170,000 Palestinians already reside in the US.
