(DCWatchdog.com) – According to a new survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports and the Heartland Institute, “The U.S. Constitution is overwhelmingly admired by American voters, but most Democrats believe our national charter is tainted by racism and sexism.”

The questions posed in the survey conducted both by phone and online included the following:
- Do you have a very favorable, somewhat favorable, somewhat unfavorable, or very unfavorable opinion of the U.S. Constitution?
- Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree with the following statement?: “The U.S. Constitution is a document rooted in racism.”
- Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree with the following statement?: “The U.S. Constitution is a sexist document that gives men advantages over women.”
- Do you strongly agree, somewhat agree, somewhat disagree, or strongly disagree with the following statement?: “The U.S. Constitution should be mostly or completely rewritten.”
In response, the survey found that “82% of Likely U.S. voters have a favorable opinion of the Constitution, including 58% who have a Very Favorable view of the document, which was ratified in 1789. Just 14% view the Constitution unfavorably.”
But, “57% of Democratic voters agree it ‘is a document rooted in racism,’ and 64% think the Constitution ‘is a sexist document that gives men advantages over women.’”
Not only that, “49% of Democrats believe the Constitution ‘should be mostly or completely rewritten.'”
As one pundit told us tis morning, “the Democrats don’t seem to like the United States of America’s most fundamental document.”
