(DCWatchdog.com) – BREAKING VIDEO: Just moments ago, while standing just outside the federal courthouse in Washington DC, where their father, Guy Reffitt, was just sentenced to seven years in prison for his actions at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, Reffitt’s daughters spoke of what they believe is the injustice of their father going to prison while former President Donald J. Trump may be reelected.

Reffitt was the first January 6 defendant convicted at trial to be sentenced and has received the harshest sentence of any defendant. Reffitt was a recruiter for the Texas Three Percenters.
Reffitt was convicted of five felonies, including obstruction of Congress as it met to certify the 2020 election result, interfering with police, carrying a firearm to a riot, and threatening his teenage son, who turned him into the FBI.
According to the sentencing judge, Judge Dabney Friedrich, as reported by the Washington Post, “Reffitt had every right to his political views, to peacefully protest, and to support, vote for and associate with whomever he chose, Friedrich said, ‘but what Mr. Reffitt and hundreds of other Capitol riot[ers] did not have the right to do is to storm the Capitol, carrying firearms, trespass, refuse law enforcement commands or to resort to violence.'”
Judge Friedrich was appointed to the bench in 2017 by then-President Donald Trump.
Speaking of the sentencing, their father and former President Donald Trump, one Reffitt’s daughters, first said:
“To mark my Dad as this horrible person, and then having him prosecuted like this, wherein somebody is maybe even able to get elected again, doesn’t seem right to me.”
The second daughter then added:
“Trump deserves life in prison if my father’s in prison for this long.”
