Breaking: U.S. Will Boycott Olympics?

( – Happening Now: In a shocking turn of events, it appears as though President Joe Biden is now considering boycotting the 2022 Winter Olympic Games scheduled next February in Beijing, China over China’s constant human rights abuses, which they refuse to end.

This move by Biden would result in no U.S. dignitaries going to any of the Olympic games. However, athletes would still be permitted to go.

According to the Washington Examiner, Biden’s comments came during a recent meeting where he spoke with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the Oval Office.

It is “something we’re considering,” President Biden said during his conversation with Trudeau.

In the past, First Lady Jill Biden went with a group of delegates in 2020 to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. There is currently no set date for when President Biden will make his final decision on the matter.

What do you think? What is your opinion? Should President Joe Biden order all U.S. officials and dignitaries to boycott the Winter Olympics held in China in February because of China’s human rights abuses while still allowing U.S. athletes to compete? Do boycotts work? Do you think the Chinese government will stop its human rights abuses just because Biden orders U.S. officials and dignitaries to not attend the Games next February?
