(DCWatchdog.com) – BREAKING NEWS: In a bombshell revelation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had been warned about possible threats ever since local authorities questioned the Georgia school shooting suspect back in 2023.
According to a source, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in May 2023 interviewed Colt Gray, who was 13 at the time, after the FBI forwarded anonymous tips it received through its National Threat Operations Center.
The threats, which did not specify details such as place and time, included photos of guns, the field office said in a release.
“Within 24 hours, the FBI determined the online post originated in Georgia and the FBI’s Atlanta Field Office referred the information to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for action,” the release stated.
Despite the investigation, officials stated there was no probable cause for an arrest, and Gray denied making any threats.
However, four people were recently killed, and at least nine others were hospitalized during a shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia.
Chris Hosey, the Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, confirmed that Gray, now 14 and a student at the school, was arrested after officers confronted him.
Back in 2023, authorities also spoke with Gray’s father, who acknowledged owning hunting guns but assured that Colt did not have unsupervised access to them.
Nevertheless, investigators will seek to determine how the shooter obtained an “AR-platform-style weapon” they say he used.
At the time, the sheriff’s office alerted local schools to monitor the situation.
“What should have been a joyous back-to-school season in Winder, Georgia, has now turned into another horrific reminder of how gun violence continues to tear our communities apart,” Joe Biden said in response to the shooting.
Hosey stated during a press conference that Gray will face murder charges and will be tried as an adult.
