(DCWatchdog.com) – Happening Now: Just moments ago, U.S. General Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the highest-ranking officer in the United States Armed Forces who serves as the principal military advisor to President Joe Biden and Defense Secretary Mark Esper, went before cameras at the Pentagon (watch the video below) to send a warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The message had all the earmarks of Pentagon statements and warnings delivered to other nations throughout history just before the United States engaged in military combat.
Several veteran Pentagon correspondents said General Milley’s statement is reminiscent of statements from the Pentagon before the United States went to war against Iraq.
Reading from a prepared text, General Milley stated:
“We are ready, capable, and prepared to uphold our obligation under treaty to NATO as mentioned by the Secretary. An attack against one NATO ally is an attack against all. NATO has significant military capability. NATO has approximately 130+ brigades of maneuver forces, not including U.S. forces. Ninety-three squadrons of high-end fighters, four carriers, and many more surface combatants. The military capability of NATO is very, very significant.”
Please watch the video below of General Mark Milley and then share your reaction and thoughts by emailing [email protected]. In your opinion, does it sound like Milley is signaling that the United States is close to war with Russia? Why or why not? Would you support the United States going to war with Russia if Russia engages another member of NATO? Why or why not? We read all emails and respect all opinions. Thank you.
