Breaking: New Trump Allegation Sent to DOJ

BREAKING NEWS

(DCWatchdog.com) – BREAKING NOW: Former President Donald Trump has been accused of improperly – perhaps illegally – taking classified information containing national security secrets to his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.

The United States Department of Justice has been notified, and it is expected that an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation will be initiated. However, no announcement on that front has happened.

According to the AP in a just-released item headlined “National Archives: Trump took classified items to Mar-a-Lago“:

“The 15 boxes of White House records that were stored at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence contained items marked as classified national security information, the National Archives and Records Administration said Friday. The agency said the matter has been referred to the Justice Department

“Investigators will be looking to see if Trump’s actions, both during his presidency and after, violated the Presidential Records Act, which was enacted in 1978 after former President Richard Nixon wanted to destroy documents related to the Watergate scandal

“Another statute, punishable by up to three years in prison, makes it a crime to conceal or intentionally destroy government records.” [emphasis added]

Again, there is no indication that the Federal Bureau of Investigation has launched a criminal investigation into Trump’s possession of classified national security documents.

This is a breaking news report.
