(DCWatchdog.com) – In terrible news for Joe Biden but also for the Democratic Party itself – as it reflects the alarming rise of the anti-Semitic radical left – a new poll has found that Biden is losing leftist support because of his response to the October 7 Islamist terrorist invasion of crucial US ally Israel.
A new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research indicates a significant division within the Democratic Party regarding President Joe Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The survey reveals that while 50% of Democrats approve of Biden’s approach, 46% disapprove. This division is particularly evident in the differing perspectives on U.S. support for Israel.
Biden’s approval among Democrats on this issue has slightly decreased since August, as per an earlier AP-NORC poll, AP reports, as cited by Newsmax.
The recent attack by Palestinian Arab Islamist terrorist organization Hamas on October 7, which saw the sadistic slaughter of over 1,400 people, and Israel’s subsequent military action in Gaza have placed Biden in a politically challenging situation, AP observes.
Biden has supported Israeli sovereignty since the attack but has also urged the Israeli government to minimize civilian casualties and allow humanitarian aid into the Hamas-run Gaza Strip enclave.
According to the AP-NORC poll, a notable portion of Democrats, particularly younger and nonwhite members, express disapproval of Biden’s handling of the issue, whereas a majority of older and white Democrats show approval.
Thus, almost 70% of those Democrats in favor of Biden’s response to October 7 said his support for Israel was just right.
Among those who disapprove of it, 65% believe that the United States is doing too much to support Israel.
In the former group, 76% think Hamas bears responsibility for the current war, while 32% say it is Israel’s fault.
The latter group’s views about responsibility for the hostilities are almost evenly divided.
However, most Democrat voters under 45 – 65% – and most nonwhite leftists – 58% – have declared their disapproval of the president’s handling of the terrorist attack against Israel.
“Knowing that our tax money could be paying for the weapons that are murdering children by the thousands over there, it’s getting harder to be supportive of our president and our country in general,” commented Brie Williamson, a 34-year-old Illinois resident.
The AP poll, conducted among 1,239 adults from Nov. 2-6, 2023, has a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.
