(DCWatchdog.com) – In a new anti-American measure at the end of the Biden administration, Alejandro Mayorkas, President Biden’s border chief, has extended the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) amnesty for over 850,000 migrants.

Critics argue this move favors foreign regimes and burdens American resources, while the administration claims it balances humanitarian considerations.

Alejandro Mayorkas’ TPS extension until 2026 offers a measure of protection for these migrants, who might otherwise be deported amidst difficult conditions in their home countries.

A significant portion of those affected includes 234,000 El Salvadorans and 600,000 Venezuelans.

The El Salvador extension is allegedly due to adverse geological and weather events, while the Venezuelan case stems from an ongoing humanitarian crisis under Maduro’s regime.

Mayorkas justified “bad weather” in El Salvador and severe difficulties in Venezuela as reasons for the decision.

Critics fiercely contest this, believing it undermines immigration enforcement and inadvertently supports the Maduro regime by allowing potential opponents to stay in the U.S.

Meanwhile, the TPS grants these migrants work permits to send money home, potentially aiding foreign governments rather than domestic American interests.

“President Joe Biden’s pro-migration border chief has extended temporary amnesty for 850,000 illegal and quasi-legal economic migrants until 2026, further suppressing American wages and spiking their rents,” reports The Free Republic.

The extension isn’t Mayorkas’ first action during the Biden administration; instead, it represents a step in the lengthy track of TPS grants, tripling the total number to about one million.

Notably, the strategy also includes expansion for migrants from Ukraine and Sudan, amid concerns over growing U.S. labor saturation and economic consequences.

Business and ethnic lobbies have supported the TPS extension, citing its economic and community benefits.

Advocates insist the TPS extensions are supported by economic growth metrics from foreign graduates working in America.

Yet, there exists a strong belief that this strategy postpones addressing immigration dilemmas and may indirectly assist Trump’s administration by offsetting amnesty decisions until later, such as the El Salvador TPS expiring September 2026.

“This way, they’ll deal with it later in the administration, when they’ll have time to prepare the full explanation they’re going to need to lay out about why they’re not renewing TPS for El Salvador. So in a sense, this is a kind of gift to Trump,” commented anti-immigration activist Mark Krikorian, cited by Breitbart News.

Ultimately, the decision to extend TPS is contentious, igniting debates on the future of American immigration policies and the potential impact on domestic resources.

This move by Alejandro Mayorkas and the Biden administration has far-reaching implications, leaving American patriots concerned about its effect on national security and taxpayer burdens.
