(DCWatchdog.com) – Just a short time ago, during a keynote speech, United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen addressed the topic of “climate change.”
You can watch the video clip a bit further down this post.
In discussing what she believes about climate change — what some refer to as “global warming” — Yellen stated, “We must redouble our efforts to decarbonize our economies.”
Certainly, as the United States and much of the world are already headed into recession, according to the majority of economists, the costs associated with doubling “efforts” to “decarbonize” “economies” will be both significant and controversial.
Yet, Yellen states:
“The recent IPCC reports confirm that our window of opportunity to leave our planet worthy of our children and our grandchildren is even closer to being permanently shut. We must redouble our efforts to decarbonize our economies, recognizing that countries will use a range of tools, including carbon pricing, regulation, and subsidies to achieve needed emission reductions.”
Please watch this clip of Yellen and then share your thoughts about the questions raised under the video clip.
