Barack Obama Jumps Back Into Politics

( – Former President Barack Obama has joined the efforts of the Democratic Party to raise money for its candidates in the 2022 midterm elections by participating in high-profile fundraisers.

Obama is now working with the Senatorial Campaign Committee of the Democratic Party to generate donations for an event that is to be held in an undisclosed location in New York City next month, Axios reported as cited by Newsmax.

An invitation to the fundraiser shows that the former two-term Democrat president will participate in the event on September 8.

The fundraiser is presented as a conversation between Obama and Democrat US Senator Gary Peters of Michigan, the chairman of the party’s Senatorial Campaign Committee.

The invitation reveals two types of tickets available for the fundraiser. The $25,000 option is good for general admission and reception, while the $50,000 option buys a VIP ticket which is good for a VIP reception and photo line.

Even though the invitation lists the time of the event as between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on September 8, it does not list an address, saying instead that the location is going to be “provided upon RSVP.”

The invitation for Obama’s Democratic Party fundraiser in NYC also requires attendees to provide evidence that they have had a COVID-19 vaccination and booster shot and a negative result from a coronavirus test taken on the day of the event.

Besides the NYC city fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Obama will also headline a similar event for the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, a report by Politico has revealed.

The latter event will be held sooner, on August 30, on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, where one of the Obamas’ family mansions is located.

In that fundraiser, Obama will be featured alongside his former Attorney General, Eric Holder, who presently serves as the President of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.

The funds raised at that event will help fund the NDRC’s legal actions, support Democrat candidates in the midterms, and finance the Committee’s voting rights activities.

The price tag for attending the Obama fundraiser on Martha’s Vineyard has not been revealed. Still, it is known that the event will feature a dinner and a discussion about democracy.
