(DCWatchdog.com) – In a striking but unanimous stance, Arab nations have rallied against Donald Trump’s proposal to relocate Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan amid the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

This move defies Trump’s controversial plan, which he suggested could help de-escalate the situation by moving up to 1.5 million people from Gaza.
Yet, the proposal has sparked a strong backlash from key Arab allies committed to a two-state solution.
During a significant meeting in Cairo, nations like Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, alongside the Palestinian Authority and the Arab League, rejected the thought of relocating Palestinians.
They stressed this could destabilize the region further and undermine peace efforts, focusing instead on Palestinian rights and the preservation of their lands.
Concerns raised include economic impacts on Egypt and Jordan and the potential instability caused by an influx of refugees.
The proposal seems to resonate with far-right Israeli perspectives, aiming to resolve the Hamas situation by removing Palestinians from Gaza — a move reminiscent of historical forced deportations.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi emphasized a two-state solution over Trump’s plan, stating, “The solution is not to remove the Palestinian people from their place. No.”
Jordan, already hosting over 2 million Palestinians, shares these concerns, advocating the establishment of a Palestinian state within territories occupied by Israel since 1967.
“We affirm our rejection of [any attempts] to compromise Palestinians’ unalienable rights, whether through settlement activities, or evictions or annex of land or through vacating the land from its owners . . . in any form or under any circumstances or justifications,” reads the Arab nations’ joint statement, cited by The New York Post.

Arab nations emphasized the importance of reconstructing Gaza and securing Palestinian residency on their land, rejecting any attempts to undermine the UN aid agency UNRWA, whose operations the Israeli government recently targeted.
Egypt and Jordan voice grave security concerns regarding mass relocations, worrying that Israel may not allow Palestinians to return once displaced.
The joint statement stressed commitment to Palestinians’ unalienable rights, denouncing settlement and displacement activities.
Despite Trump’s confidence that Egypt and Jordan would accept relocated Palestinians, opposition remains staunch.
The refusal to uproot Palestinians from Gaza reflects broader efforts for a peaceful heartland solution.
Arab nations strongly support ongoing cease-fire and hostage release negotiations, brokered by the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt, describing them as crucial steps towards long-term peace.
The call for a two-state solution is likely to be a major topic at the upcoming summit in June, co-hosted by Saudi Arabia and France, which aims to pave the way for a peaceful resolution.
