AOC Back In Attack Mode

(DCWatchdog.com) – Returning to what she seems to like doing most as she lives on her taxpayer-funded salary, United States Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat best known as AOC, shifted back into attack mode as she slammed her Republican counterparts – most especially Speaker Mike Johnson.

On MSNBC’s “All in With Chris Hayes,” AOC didn’t hold back her criticism against House Republicans for their attempt to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

The impeachment effort fell flat, failing to secure enough votes in a closely contested 216-214 decision. Four Republicans broke ranks, with Rep. Tom McClintock from California, Reps. Ken Buck of Colorado, and Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin choosing to vote no. GOP Rep. Blake Moore of Utah switched his vote to no in the final moments.

AOC dismissed the impeachment push as baseless. “There is absolutely no evidence for an impeachable offence. It is completely politicized,” she asserted. Her comments underscored her viewpoint that the impeachment was a political maneuver without merit.

She also took a swipe at the leadership under Speaker Mike Johnson, hinting at his lack of experience and inability to unite the Republican House. “House Republicans are dealing with a speaker that they could get and that they could agree on,” AOC said, pointing out the difficulties in securing the speakership for Johnson after multiple rounds of voting.

She implied that Johnson’s relative inexperience in party leadership and vote counting fell short of the usual standards expected of someone in his position.

The office of Speaker Mike Johnson has yet to respond to these criticisms.
