(DCWatchdog.com) – The leader of the progressive Democrats in the United States House of Representatives, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat, has come under fire from her side of the political aisle as she has been slammed by a fellow far-left female New York politician.
The “friendly fire” against AOC has come from Jessica Ramos, a Democrat state senator in the New York legislature. She has accused the radical leftist leader of always being absent from the community she is supposedly serving.
The anger expressed by Ramos, who is the head of the Labor Committee in the New York State Senate, against Ocasio-Cortez was brought about by an exchange the latter had on Twitter about healthcare reform in the U.S. and how the U.S. could potentially learn from Britain’s National Health Service (NHS), which is government-operated.
“A couple of the most highly respected health policy academics recently set up a meeting with AOC’s office to discuss NHS style healthcare reform. They were told bluntly by AOC’s staff, ‘we’re not doing healthcare right now,'” said a random Twitter account, provoking Ocasio-Cortez to respond.
“I’m really sorry to hear that this happened. It’s not representative of me nor my values. If you can connect with details, I’d appreciate it. I’ll follow so DMs will be open,” AOC reacted.
However, AOC’s expressed readiness to immediately start caring about the issue at hand was immediately attacked as bogus.
“Maybe if you spent more time in your office and with your team, you’d know what goes on,” Jessica Ramos wrote in response. “Just saying it would be nice if you breathed our air. So, as an employer, what happens with the staffer who said this?” she added.
The Democrat New York state Senator elaborated further on her resentment for the U.S. House of Representatives progressive leader.
“Our district offices are on the same floor in the same building. She’s barely ever present in the community. It’s an indisputable fact,” Ramos wrote.
Last week Ocasio-Cortez made headlines because she faked being handcuffed after getting detained for blocking street traffic during an abortion protest in front of the building of the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC.
She was accused of pretending to have handcuffs on as a publicity stunt even though the police never even tried to handcuff her and the 16 other detained Democrat U.S. lawmakers – they just escorted them away.
