(DCWatchdog.com) – BREAKING NOW: In another sign that liberal sanctuary cities can dish it out but not take it, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has declared a state of emergency over the influx of illegal aliens the city has experienced in recent months as border states which have experienced millions of illegals bused 17,000 illegals to the Big Apple.
As National Review is currently reporting in a piece headlined “NYC Mayor Declares State of Emergency over Influx of Illegal Immigrants“:
“New York City mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency on Friday in response to an influx of migrants arriving in the city.
“Adams said at least 17,000 asylum seekers have arrived in the city by bus from other parts of the country since April.
“Texas Governor Greg Abbott began busing migrants from the Lone Star State to New York City and Washington, D.C., in the spring.
“Abbott previously said he decided to send busloads of migrants to Washington, D.C., and New York City ‘because of President Biden’s continued refusal to acknowledge the crisis caused by his open border policies,’ saying that ‘the State of Texas has had to take unprecedented action to keep our communities safe.'” [emphasis added]
Speaking about the “crisis” today, Adams said:
“This is a humanitarian crisis that started with violence and instability in South America and is being accelerated by American political dynamics. Thousands of asylum seekers have been bused into New York City and simply dropped off, without notice, coordination, or care — and more are arriving every day…
“Our social services and our values are being exploited by others for political gain. New Yorkers are angry, I am angry too. We have not asked for this. There was never any agreement to take on the job of supporting thousands of asylum seekers. This responsibility was simply handed to us without warning as buses began showing up.”
As one conservative commentator noted to the DC Watchdog, “It’s newsworthy that liberal mayors like Adams had nothing to say about Joe Biden’s open border policies flooding the United States of America with illegal aliens until a few thousand were bused from border states to liberal sanctuary cities like New York.”
